I’ve been occupied with the dog part of my hobbies for a few days. Keeta, a tubby little ShihTzu boarded for a couple of days. I groomed him in his usual #10 all over before he went home. It took him a day and a half to get the right idea that coming to the shop for comfort and attention was way of things. He kept going down to the gate and sticking his head through the fence. No chance of getting that tubbiness through to escape but I kept going and getting him, walking him back and pouring on the positive attention. By the end of the second day he had it figured out…then the next day he was off home. Rio boarded with us for eleven days. He is a 12 year old German Shepherd with arthritic hips. He enjoyed his stay to the max. He even trotted around after squirrels with our 2 poodles. He is a good boy to have around…love having him as a guest. H e shown here with Rufus the Airedale that was boarding as well but went home first. Nico came in for a bath and brush. He is an 11 year old Bernese cross…sore hips on this guy too. He was extremely stressed the last time I bathed him…diarhea and frantic behaviour…not his usual way. There had been a lot of changes in his life at that point. Anyway this time his owner did not feed him for the day to see if that would help; it did and he seemed to be a good deal calmer. It was a good groom for both he and I.
