The Sketching Fire Digital Sketchbook Challenge: animal

The Sketching Fire Digital Sketchbook Challenge: animalsketching fire spark (1280x1024) (160x128)

Once a week on Friday the title of my post will be the “theme” for the week of creativity. For example this week’s theme is “animal”.

Take your time to determine the direction, interpretation and the many nuances of the word of the theme word.  It is all relative to the individual…take it where you want it to go, let it breathe and grow…let it burst into flame.  Begin to develop your sketchbook for the challenge whenever you are ready.  There is no limit to the number of sketchbook pages devoted to the theme of the week…create as many or as few as you wish.  Post your themed sketchbook entry on your blog either as you go so we can follow the process or in one marvelous giant sweeping post at the end of the week….always be sure to drop in here to post a link to your sketchbook entry in the comments of the week’s theme.   That way we can all find you and celebrate your creative fire.

My own sketchbook will be digital using a Cintiq tablet and Photoshop. BUT:   Please do not feel limited to the digital medium.  Traditional sketchbooks in their many, many facets are just fine and fantastic in fact.

The Goal of this challenge is to develop each our own sketchbook journal filled with brilliant glowing creativity….a stepping stone to future creative projects even.  It is an opportunity to light up the blank pages with creative fire, to inspire and motivate each other and celebrate each other’s baby steps that will grow into vast sweeping strides into Sketching Fire.

It sounds a bit grandiose but grandiose is indeed what happens when one allows one’s creativity to flow unbridled.

I have started this separate blog to host the Sketching Fire Challenge as well as to serve as my digital sketchbook.  My original blog Eldy’s Art will continue to be a showcase of completed projects…and some new ones which will grow out of these sketchbook pages.  I invite all budding artists to join me in this quest for greater creativity.
