Watercolors Resurrected

I dusted off the watercolors after a very long absence from usage.  I had, out of curiosity, watched a U-Tube video on the “pouring” technique for creating backgrounds and became inspired to give it a go.DSCN0482

I used red, blue, and yellow for three separate pourings after the masking fluid had dried on the deer, grouse and grasses.  I am pleased with the results so far.  I haven’t got a clue on how to proceed further, however, the main goal was to try out pouring watercolor as a technique so it still feels like a success.

  1. I like what you’ve done so far – the deer and the grouse, the interesting color wash, bleed (don’t know the correct term.) My only thought is deeper color in the grass would make the ground more, well, grounded. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do next.

Whatever happens, I’m delighted that you’ve dusted off the water colors!
